Against the panoramic backdrop of the Santa Catalina Mountains, the Ranchette Putters held their 2017 annual award luncheon at the Vistas (HOA 1). Outgoing president, Nancy Galant presided over the event, announced the winners and recognized the high standards that have been set for the upcoming year.
The Roadrunner Award was presented to Janice Neal for having the lowest average score of 37.875. Janice’s name will be engraved on the club’s plaque, located in the trophy case at La Hacienda Club. Debbie Shelton had the next lowest score with 37.885, followed by Mary Schlacter with 38.000.
Awards for most holes-in-one went to full timer, Janice Neal, with 62 and part timer, Terry Pendy, with 46. The award for best attendance, with 41 qualifying sessions, went to Kirsten Seifert. Congratulations to all of these ladies for their excellent and consistent performances.
Members-at-large were given raffle tickets and participated in a chance to win one of 40 prizes. Six lucky ladies went home with brand new putters! A table full of pink bags contained additional prizes: hand-made note cards, by Randy Brosnahan; pink hats, caps and visors; golf gloves and accessories; winter stocking caps, socks and winter gloves; mini decorated golf purses and tote bags. Several sponsors also donated prizes of wine and gourmet candy. Meanwhile every attendee left with a pink goodie bag containing a shiny golf ball and chocolate candies.
The luncheon ended with Nancy Galant and her outgoing board receiving a standing ovation for their services in 2017. The group then welcomed incoming president Vicki Godbey and her enthusiastic team.
