SaddleBrooke Ranch is on a mission to help save lives by hosting a blood drive on Oct. 7, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Ranch House Sol Ballroom.

The community is invited to take part in this special event and donate blood for hospital patients in our neighborhoods and across the nation. The need for blood is constant, but only 3% of the U.S. population donates. By rolling up a sleeve, donors can play a critical role in the treatment of accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer, or sickle cell disease.

To make an appointment or to learn more, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit www.redcrossblood.org, or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

What is Power Red? It is similar to whole blood donation, except a special machine is used to allow you to safely donate two units of red blood cells during one donation while returning your plasma and platelets to you. Maximize your impact and schedule a Power Red donation today! Learn more about donating blood at www.redcrossblood.org.

Help fight sickle cell disease. In the United States, an estimated 100,000 people of various racial and ethnic backgrounds have sickle cell disease, with the majority being of African descent. Blood from people of the same race or similar ethnicity is important in ensuring the best transfusion results, with the least potential reaction.
