Janice Hynes recently competed in the World Championship of Cowboy Action Shooting. This event is held at the Ben Avery Shooting Center in Phoenix during the first week of March. More than 700 contestants from 20 countries competed for the championship.
Cowboy Action Shooting is a three-gun match using antique firearms (firearms in use prior to 1899).
Dressed in cowboy attire, Janice used two single action revolvers, a lever action rifle, and a 12 gauge coach gun. She also competed in the Wild Bunch Match using a 45 caliber 1911 pistol, a 45 caliber lever action rifle, and a 12 gauge pump shotgun.
Shooting 10 different scenarios over a two-day period (approximately 400+ targets) she earned a sixth place finish in her category in the World Championship. Good Shoot’n Girl!
