SaddleBrooke and Ranch Senior Softball Action

King Mitchell, Jr. (aka Mitch)

Well, SaddleBrooke and Ranch Senior Softball fans, here’s the past and future in the action-packed world of SaddleBrooke softball.

Memorial Day Tournament

Three games of softball entertainment were offered on May 26, sponsored (since 2006!) by Ambient Air Heating & Cooling. Thanks again. Fans enjoyed exciting softball “dramedy,” food (brats, dogs, burgers, chips, beverages), music, and insightful announcing and commentary (by yours truly) here in the Brooke.

Winter League Action

Well, Winter League ended April 18, and the spring season will be “in progress” at publication time. Meantime, the winter results are in!

On Mondays in Recreational, the insurance giants of State Farm and Allstate (Debra Miller and Brittni Guttman, respectively, presiding) battled all season, with Debra’s team taking the championship at 8-5 to Brittni’s 5-8. In Community, Ambient Air Heating & Cooling overcame a 1-3 start to take 10 of the next 15 for the league bragging rights at 11-8. Cactus Overhead Garage Doors finished at 10-10, while early leader Beyond Clean tanked into the cellar at 8-11 (lost 10 of the last 15!) Ouuuuuch!

On Tuesdays in Community, Cleere Law Offices cruised to a 9-4 record over Dominick’s Italian’s 4-9. In Competitive, Leah Kari Insurance Solutions put the pedal to the metal right from the get-go, sailing to a 16-2 season. Whoa! Concierge Heating & Cooling finished at 8-11, and Hughes CU got foreclosed upon all season long at 3-14.

Wednesday Community had the “Thrilla in SaddleBrookevilla,” with Community Church of SaddleBrooke and Healthy Skin Dermatology each battling to 6-6 records, with the church getting the slight nod on the runs for/runs against scale. In Sidewinder, Hardin Brothers Automotive at 8-3 motored right on by KJK Insurance Advocates at 3-8.

On Thursdays in Coyote (65+), Absolutely Art at 9-7 slid by Barron Electric’s 8-8 and Canine & Company’s 6-8. Woof! In Recreational, Rancheros Market had the beef and finished at 7-4, with Pride Mechanical getting “wrenched” at 4-7.

On Fridays in Competitive, Player’s Pub (once 7-2) hung on for the league “chimper-championship” with a 9-5 record to ease by Bubb’s Grub at 8-6, with Andy’s Irrigation getting all wet at 5-11. In Community, another tight race as Catalina Family Dentistry finished at 8-7 to Big Bear Garage Doors’ 8-8 and Ann Fraley-Long Realty’s 8-9. Yowza!

Anyhoo, that’s a wrap! C’mon down to the field and check the action. The softball junkies will be down at the field every weekday slapping the softball around. Ditto Saturday mornings when the softballers tune the gloves and bats with some batting and fielding practice. Or you can surf the SSSA at saddlebrookesoftball.com. Remember, spring season began May 5 and runs through June. The action is sure to be hot and heavy, and we know the weather will be, so turn up the A/C!
