That’s what I said! Yeah, all you Ranchers, in case you didn’t know, are welcome to come on down to the SB softball field, check it all out, and if you’re feeling like strapping on the cleats again, sign up.
Tournament Action
The St. Patrick’s Day Tournament is coming up on March 15! Erin go bragh, neighbors (whatever that means). As they say in the old country, “Every man is sociable until a cow invades his garden!”
Winter League Action
Meantime, it’s been colder’n a well digger’s derriere, so some game days were canceled “in toto.” So, there hasn’t been much action, as the Prez canceled full days, since the chill settled in and the wind has been whipping through the Brooke.
On Mondays in Recreational (single A ball), Brittni Guttman-Allstate is at 1-0 over Debra Miller-State Farm’s 0-1. In Community (AAA), Beyond Clean is at 2-1, Cactus Overhead Garage Doors is at 2-2, and Ambient Air Heating and Cooling trails at 1-2.
On Tuesdays in Community, Cleere Law Offices won their first start and is 1-0 to their softball partners in mayhem, Dominick’s Italian 0-1. In Competitive, Leah Kari Solutions is off to a hot start, taking their first three games, and is 3-0. Concierge Heating and A/C is holding on at 1-2, but Hughes Credit Union is overdrawn at 0-3.
Wednesday Community finally got some games in, and Healthy Skin Dermatology is 2-0 to Community Church of SB’s 0-2. Advocates is 1-0, with Hardin Brothers Automotive at 0-1. Ditto in Wednesday Sidewinder, with KJK Insurance Advocates at 1-0 and Hardin Brothers Automotive at 0-1.
Thursday Coyote finally got some games in, with Barron Electric on top at 1-0, Absolutely Art with the doubleheader at 1-1, and Canine & Company trailing at 0-1.
On Fridays, again finally some games in. In Competitive, Bubb’s Grub leads the way at 2-1 to Players Pub’s 1-1 and Andy’s Irrigation springing some leaks at 1-2. In Community, Ann Fraley-Long Realty is 3-0, Catalina Family Dental is 1-1, and Big Bear Garage Doors is in da cellah at 0-3.
A First? Wife and Husband Same-Game Homers!
Can it be? The first husband/wife home run duo in the same game? Well, SaddleBrooke softball friends, the Robin Kingsley/Don Gentner duo both (inside the park) homered in the first Tuesday Competitive League game (Robin’s first-ever Competitive League game); Robin for Leah Kari Solutions and Don for Concierge Heating and A/C.
Anyhoo, c’mon down to the field and check the action. The softball junkies will be down at the field every weekday slapping Mr. (or is it Ms?) softball around. Ditto Saturday mornings when the softballers tune the gloves and bats with some batting and fielding practice.
