Amber Lights senior living community residents were the recipients of 125 homemade cards when several volunteers from the SaddleBrooke Paper Crafters Club delivered their crafts door-to-door. Each card was made and donated by members of the club. This event was the second of many such future visits planned.
Leanne, the Director of Sales and Marketing at Amber Lights, escorted us to three levels of apartments showing us a handy table ledge where we placed our handcrafted greeting cards for each resident. They were cards for all occasions that can be used to send their families and friends. With cards costing upward to $10 each, this could help save these senior citizens some of their money.
The SaddleBrooke Paper Crafters is a group of about 65 women who meet once a month to discuss cardmaking techniques. The meetings start with a social followed by cardmaking presentations, an educational session and sign-ups for monthly Fun Shop classes.
President Abbie Egolf states, “Everyone is welcome. You can come and join the fun whether you are an expert or you are just beginning. The Club members are always helpful and share their talents and expertise with everyone.” The friends and family who receive our cards rarely throw them out; they are truly works of art.
