SaddleBrooke Classic

The SaddleBrooke Ranch Women’s Golf Association (SBRWGA) SaddleBrooke Classic was held May 13 at MountainView. Forty-one golfers from SaddleBrooke Ranch participated in this friendly team competition. Teams are made up of golfers from all three SaddleBrooke Women’s Clubs—Mountain View/The Preserve, SaddleBrooke One, and SaddleBrooke Ranch. This provides a wonderful opportunity to build friendships across the three golfing communities.

Twenty SaddleBrooke Ranch women were on winning teams: Jeanne Osterlund, Trudy Henley, Melanie Timberlake, Maggie Leyburn, Joanne Garcia, Kim Rice, Arlene Fleming, Phyllis Pettijohn, Barb Simms, Kathi Dyer, Monika Bartko, Patty Cimo, Terry Menning, Fran Harrington, Char Burrill, Carol Sacks, Bonnie Stark, Bernie Caccipaglia, Mary Snowdon, and Karen Oprish. Bonnie Stark also had a closest to the pin on number 17.

State Medallion Qualifying Round Results

Four State Medallion Qualifying rounds are played each year. The final State Medallion Qualifying round was played May 20. Each golfer’s best two rounds are used to determine who will represent our club in the State Medallion Tournament, which will be played in January of 2026.

This year Kathy Anderson was the winner of the State Medallion low gross with a two-round combined score of 146. The competition for State Medallion low net ended in a tie between Debbie Shelton and Ingrid McMannis who both shot a two-round combined low net of 141. When there is a tie, the winner is determined by a three-hole playoff, which will be scheduled later between Debbie and Ingrid. More to come after the playoff. Congratulations to all three women for some excellent golf!

Sadie Hawkins Tournament

On May 27, 54 ladies and their partners teamed up for some fun golf in our annual Sadie Hawkins Tournament. The premise for this tournament is that the lady asks the gentleman to the “dance” or, in this case, to be their partner for the tournament. The gentleman cannot be their spouse or significant other and must be a member of our community with a USGA handicap.

The weather was perfect for a wonderful event. Congratulations to the winners of this best ball tournament:
