Discussing new music during a rehearsal break

Dawn Walker

Save the date for Halloween! SaddleBrooke Winds and Strings (SBWS) next concert at DesertView Performing Arts Center will be “Halloween Spooktacular” on Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. Music planned for this event includes “Night on Bald Mountain,” “Hall of the Mountain King,” “Music for a Darkened Theatre,” “The Skeleton Crawl,” “The Cave You Fear,” and much more.

Our music director, Jesus Jacquez, teaches at every rehearsal and enhances our performances with a creative visual display to go along with the music. If you have an instrument and might be interested in joining us, please get in touch.

We come together Friday mornings in the SaddleBrooke and Catalina area and welcome intermediate and up musicians who come from SaddleBrooke and outlying areas. We especially need clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, euphonium, trombone, and tuba players. String players play from modified wind parts.

For more information about joining us, contact info@saddlebrookewindsandstrings.org.

Finally, SBWS is available for summer programs in your venue! If you have room for 40+ musicians, their instruments and a percussion section, please consider us. We have a broad repertoire that includes patriotic pieces to celebrate Independence Day, marches, symphonic band pieces, standards, and film and musical favorites.
