On Monday, February 6, 2017, Steve Groth, our Democratic Precinct Committee person, invited Ranch Democrats to an organizational meeting to determine if there was sufficient interest to launch a Ranch Democrat Club. Working from a mailing list of people he knew, we had a great turnout of 42 interested people and several people expressing interest that were not able to attend. The attendees unanimously expressed interest in meeting regularly to discuss items and issues of common interest. It was decided that the group would meet on the second and fourth Mondays of every month at 4:30 p.m. at the Hacienda in the La Mesa Room. At least initially it was felt that meeting twice a month was important to get the group organized and to capture the enthusiasm of the group.

The discussions centered on how as a group we can best stay informed about our elected representatives and how we can offer input to them. We were given information on how to contact our elected officials as well as how to stay informed on current issues coming up before them.

A group of volunteers will be meeting to get bylaws established as well as to form a nominating committee to establish a leadership team for the group.

Since our sister community, SaddleBrooke, has the largest Democrat Club in the state of Arizona we discussed how we can work together with them as well as leverage off of their success.

We invite any Democrat and like-minded Independent living at SaddleBrooke Ranch to join us at our meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the Hacienda. We plan to have a fun time socializing as well as contributing back to our community by staying active on issues of importance. Please come  join us!
