Curious about paper quilling and how to roll paper? Join SBR resident Erin Newman in learning the art of curling, coiling, and rolling! Paper quilling/filigree is an ancient art form that involves using strips of paper which are rolled, shaped, and adhered together to create detailed, decorative designs. Class will teach the basics of quilling using strips of paper and quilling tools. You will create your own paper quilled art piece to take home.

The pouring of paint frees the artist in a spontaneous direct process of mixing, and pouring paint directly onto the canvas creating lines, shapes, values of color and texture (the four design elements). Pour using your intuition instead of thinking about plans and ideas coming from your heart and soul. The artist tips and turns the canvas and can paint into the pour creating unusual and exciting compositions.
