SBR Lady Niners Cactus Flower Invitational a Huge Success!

Constance Garrison

On April 15, 75 players competed in the SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) Lady Niners 2025 Cactus Flower Invitational. The tournament was a scramble with a shotgun start. We invited guest participants from seven other clubs: Oro Valley CC, The Views, MountainViewPreserve, Highlands, Tucson National, Crooked Tree, and SaddleBrooke HOA One.

Outside participants were paired to ride with one or two Lady Niners; a great opportunity to make new friends and assist the guests. At check-in participants purchased mulligan tickets that could later be used for the table raffles at the luncheon. They also received a small cooler with breakfast snacks and a banana.

Upon check-in for lunch in the Sol Ballroom, participants bought raffle tickets hoping to win one of the 12 gorgeous wrapped gift baskets or the beautiful cheese boards or wine bottles with embroidered aprons placed on each table. The raffle tickets garnered over $2,000 to be donated to our charity, Family First.

Gift basket themes included golf, margaritas, snacks, martinis, and Pampered Chef. For the luncheon we featured a potato bar with cookies for dessert and prickly pear cocktails.

The Invitational winners were: First place Leslie Brown and Rita Teresi from SBR and Jane Reed and Pat Bunton, guests; Second place Evie Falk from SBR and Dorothy New, Pamela Patrick, and Jean Lorch, guests; Third place Amy Donaldson from SBR and Rie Ross, Sue Harrington, and Janet Forthsythe-Morse, guests; Fourth place Joan Grawe and Marsha Lindeken from SBR and Jenny Clark and Carol Cullivan, guests.

Sandy Buonarigo won Closest to the Pin on hole number 5 and Karen Bailey won Longest Drive on hole number 4.

Congratulations to all the lucky winners! A big thanks to the Cactus Flower committee and to Mike and Ken from the Pro Shop for making our event a huge success!
