Congratulations to Mark Drake, Tim Resh, Rod Linville, Rick Snowden and John Noland—our 2026 SaddleBrooke Ranch Men’s Golf Association Match Play winners.
The nine-hole match format was a success as we were able to complete the tournament in only two Thursdays. With only nine holes per match, there was little room for error and the pressure was on in each match from the first shot to the last. We plan to repeat this tournament again next year using the same format. Next year we are moving this event to the end of the year, and it is scheduled for Dec. 8 and 9, 2027.
Bracket Results
Woods Bracket: Mark Drake defeated Patrick Fancher 2 & 1 to win the championship. Kevin Voreis took third place with a 2 up victory over Tim Baker. In the fourth-place consolation matches, Kevin McCarthy defeated Dan Anderson 1 up while Franc Happ defeated Jim Rodine 2 up.
Nicklaus Bracket: Tim Resh defeated Paul Feaman 2 up to win the championship. Mike Johnson took third place with a 2 & 1 victory over Ken Rice. In the fourth-place consolation matches, Greg Leben was all square with Joe Valancius but Greg won the tiebreaker while Rick McClain defeated Dave Morretto 4 & 3.
Palmer Bracket: Rod Linville defeated Bob Spradling 3 & 2 to win the championship. Greg Byrne took third place with a 1 up victory over Andy Bolland. In the fourth-place consolation matches, Bruce Lairson defeated Troy Peterson 3 & 1 while Jayson Claar defeated Mike Kravitz 3 & 2.
Hogan Bracket: Rick Snowden defeated Jim Rasmussen 1 up to win the championship. Bill Teasdale took third place with a 2 up victory over Steve Schneck. In the fourth-place consolation matches, John Green defeated Morrie Anderson 3 & 1 while Steve Laak won the tiebreaker after his match with Paul Knott ended all square.
Snead Bracket: John Noland defeated Tad Cochran 3 & 1 to win the championship. BJ Shultz took third place with a 3 & 2 victory over Jeff Hansen. In the fourth-place consolation matches, Howard Black defeated John Huard 2 & 1 while Dick Burrill won the tiebreaker after his match with Mike Movius ended all square.
Undefeated Golfers
John Noland, Tim Resh, and Rick Snowden won all four of their matches. Rod Linville and Mark Drake won three matches and tied one. Howard Black lost his first match on a tiebreaker, and then won his next three matches. Paul Knott won two and tied two and Greg Leben amazingly tied all four of his matches.
