Do you find inspiration in our national parks? We are a newly formed club at SaddleBrooke Ranch called the National Parks Club where we will learn together about the national parks and monuments. Please join us! Perhaps you want to learn more about these treasures, share your past adventures, help plan future trips, or join others in traveling to these historical and natural wonders.
Share our enthusiasm, tell your stories, help us plan, and create some new memories! If you wish to be placed on the GroupWorks list of members and be kept alerted to activities, send your name and email address to [email protected].
Day trip!
The National Park Club is organizing a day trip to Tumacacori National Historical Park for Saturday, Dec. 7. We plan to leave SaddleBrooke Ranch at 8:30 a.m. and return by 4:30 p.m.
Tumacacori is the site of historical events and the intermingling of diverse cultures. The site offers a visitor’s center, book store, and museum, as well as walking trails. It’s a one and a half-hour drive from SBR.
And, as a special treat, the day of the outing coincides with the annual “La Fiesta de Tumacácori.” As the National Park Service website explains, “In recognition and celebration of the many cultures that were historically and are presently associated with the Santa Cruz Valley, the Tumacácori Fiesta presents the traditional creations of these cultures. The fiesta features around fifty food and craft booths, continuous live entertainment on stage, and children’s activities each day.”
Depending upon the level of interest, a round trip bus may be arranged, which should cost about $30 each. Carpooling may also be an option. Sign-ups and more information will be made through GroupWorks, and announcements will be made in the Weekly Ranch reminder as details become known.
Come out and enjoy the cool fall weather, visit the historical site, enjoy the booths, entertainment, and maybe try some of the food! This might be a good place to search out those last-minute holiday gifts!
