Variety is the spice of life, and who doesn’t like a little spice in their lives? That’s why the newly formed SBR Women’s Club is including two Cocktail Meet and Greet events a year along with their monthly luncheons. The first Meet and Greet was held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14, at the Hacienda Club and was a resounding success. Each attendee was given a ‘drink’ ticket that entitled them to a glass of wine or soft drink, which was accompanied by a sumptuous buffet. Tables and chairs were scattered throughout the room, allowing guests to socialize in an informal party-like atmosphere. Old friends had a chance to catch up with each other, and new residents were welcomed and had the opportunity to meet their new neighbors.
“As SBR grows, it’s important to retain the sense of community that we have enjoyed…and this is a good way to do it,” said Martha Sampson, Women’s Club board member and long-time resident.
Throughout the year four Women’s Club meetings will have speakers and four meetings will emphasize socializing. Annual dues have been reduced to $10 to cover lunches for the speakers, decorations and supplies. Lunches will be $12 for members and $14 for non-members.
Come out and enjoy the SBR Women’s Club. For more information contact Martha Sampson at [email protected].
