Magazine Collage
Sept. 9, 1 to 4 p.m.
Join collage and mixed media artist Donna Mains for this fun, hands-on lesson transforming pieces of magazines into bold black-and-white collages. Build an abstract composition that flows across multiple pages by cutting, layering and responding in the moment. Great class for beginners to create a one-of-a-kind graphic piece of art.
Paper Quilling—A Coiled Flower Field
Sept. 10, 9:30 a.m. to noon
Discover the art of paper quilling in this hands-on workshop. Paper quilling artist Erin Newman will show you how to create a stunning field of blooms you’ll be proud to display or gift. No experience needed!
Fiesta Flags—Gel Printing on Fabric
Sept. 14, 9 a.m. to noon
Create colorful Fiesta Flags to brighten any celebration! Join Kathie Scrimgeour as she teaches basic gel printing techniques using a gel plate, acrylic paint, and fabric swatches. Students will design and print their own unique handcrafted flags. All supplies provided. Great class for beginners and those with some gel printing experience.
Watercolor—Monet-Inspired Lily Pond
Sept. 17, 9 a.m. to noon
Join Liz Iverson as she takes you through the step-by-step process of creating an impressionist-style painting with lush trees, water, and an arched Japanese bridge over the pond. The scene will be pre-outlined on watercolor paper … no drawing required. This class is slightly leaning toward intermediate watercolorists, however, beginners are welcome.
Zentangle—5xPhive Strings
Sept. 21, 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Val Barsevich, Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT), demonstrates how drawing on the back of a 5xPhive Zentangle tile offers a unique creative canvas. These larger 5 x 5-inch tiles are blank on the front side and have pre-printed strings on the back side that act as helpful structural guidelines to create beautiful designs. You will benefit more from the content of this class by having some experience with the Zentangle method.
A Zentangle Refresher
Sept. 28, 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Have you completed an Introduction to Zentangle class and want to build on what you’ve learned? This brand-new refresher class is designed for anyone who wants to strengthen their foundational skills, gain confidence, and rediscover the relaxing, mindful practice of the Zentangle Method. Join Val Barsevich, CZT, to reconnect with the basics and continue your Zentangle journey.
