The Humantarian perspective on refugees

The Santa Catalina Catholic Church Social Awareness Ministry invites you to join us to consider the humanitarian perspective of refugees that are fleeing persecution in their home country and looking for a better life. We are hosting a discussion forum called “Understanding the Plight of the Refugee” on November 6 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the church’s parish hall. Santa Catalina is located at 14380 N. Oracle Rd. The following speakers will be featured: Ronald Tocchini, a trial lawyer on immigration issues; Cherie Gray, Director of Tucson Refugee Ministry; Mudhafar AL-Husseini, a refugee from Iraq; Gilbert Muganga, a refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo; Jeffrey Cornish, Director of International Rescue Committee; Deacon Rick Valencia, Vicar of Deacons for the Catholic Diocese of Tucson.

Questions and discussion will follow the presentations.
