On May 28, approximately 80 SaddleBrooke Ranch residents were treated to a presentation on the nuts and bolts of cruising by our very own resident Mike Redgrave. To date, Mike and his wife Mary have spent over 160 days at sea with seven more cruises already booked, including two expedition trips. We learned how to determine if cruising is for you and, if so, how to decide when to go, which mode of cruising is for you, where to cruise, and so much more.
Travel Talk Tuesday will be taking a summer break, but will return on Aug. 27 at 3 p.m. in the La Mesa Room with Ranch residents Steve Weiss and Ben Eisenstein presenting on their trips to Cuba. Steve and his wife Sherry and Ben and his wife Nancy separately visited this island nation only 90 miles south of Key West, Fla.—that is less than the distance between Tucson and Phoenix.
Cuba is famous for its vibrant culture, stunning cities, heavenly beaches, and beautiful parks. The culture of Cuba is a complex mixture of different, often contradicting, factors and influences. The Cuban people and their customs are based on a rich mixture of African, Spanish, and Caribbean cultures. Join us and learn about this and their food, music, dance, architecture, lush countryside, and more.
According to Steve, the music and dance of Cuba are some of the most dazzling in the world and was the emphasis of their tour. Ben, spending more time in the countryside, enjoyed Cuba’s wonderful natural forests and fine coastal beaches.
If you’ve ever been curious about visiting Cuba, this is the right venue to attend. We hope to see you Aug. 27.
