Have you purchased your tickets yet? If not, there are still tickets available for the SaddleBrooke Singers’ Sunday matinee or Monday evening performance. Come join us as we journey around the globe singing songs celebrating 17 distinctive countries.

Tanya Elias directs the choir in collaboration with Tucson’s jazz great, Sly Slipetsky, on the piano. The SaddleBrooke Singers Choir is comprised of community members who have been presenting great entertainment for more than 20 years.

This year, you are in luck. We’ve added a second concert to our Christmas schedule. You now have two opportunities to follow Santa’s sleigh on an international expedition featuring not only the traditional Christmas carols we all know and love, but also one or two holiday songs you likely haven’t heard before.

Our joyful holiday concert titled “Where in the World Is Santa Claus” gives the audience the opportunity to listen to a variety of vocal ranges that provide depth and complexity to the musical arrangements. Come hear our festive compositions and experience the joy, warmth, and nostalgia that is synonymous with the holiday season.

Ocho Kandelikas

Don’t miss the Singers’ performance of Flory Jagoda’s “Ocho Kandelikas” (“Eight Little Candles”) composition, which revives exciting memories of Chanukah from her Yugoslavian childhood. She writes about the eight nights of the holiday “matchmaking parties” where children sang and danced, while their parents and grandparents enjoyed serving traditional almond-honey cakes and planning their children’s wedding. The cakes represented good luck and happiness and an assurance of a successful match.

You won’t hear another concert like it this holiday season on the DesertView stage. Come listen to the unique aspects of our Christmas chorale performance and experience the strong emotions the music is likely to evoke, along with a sense of unity amongst you, our listeners. It’s sure to be a special memorable holiday experience for both us the performers and you, our audience members.

Purchase your tickets now at dvpac.net for our Dec. 3 Sunday matinee or our Dec. 4 Monday evening concert. For more information about our choir, go to saddlebrookesingers.org.
