Unit 8A Helps with Road Cleanup

On April 13, nine 8A neighbors put on yellow vests and filled 16 bags with trash along highway 77 from milepost 91 to 92, in the SaddleBrooke Ranch Adopt A Highway section. Shelly Ziegler, Mike and Maureen Bartel, Karl Knight, Steve Chapman, Sheila Davidson, Marty Knezovich, and Diane and Jerry Fox were the team.

What Could Be Better on a Warm Day?

Well, ice cream of course! On the first 90-degree day, 52 residents of unit 16A gathered for a “cool” ice cream social. In addition to the ice cream (with decadent toppings!), we had our choice of playing bocce, corn hole, or ladder toss.

It was a perfect setting with magnificent mountain views in the backyard of our gracious hosts, Pam and Milan Steube. For the last few months, 16A has been holding monthly social events that have been well-attended and thoroughly enjoyed.

This is not the first time that 16A has held an ice cream party. The first one was nearly six years ago, to the day. The views were not quite as spectacular and we had a Cold Stone ice cream cart in our garage. We had a great time, but it was unseasonably cold that day!

It’s fun to keep this tradition alive and create new ones with our 16A family.

Thank you to the 16A social committee, who enjoy working together and planning these events: Marlene Diskin, Sue Monson, Gayle O’Connell, Kim Schweitzer, and Pam Steube.
