Deb Sandin
It started with an unseasonal May thunderstorm shower that sent the organizers Bev Hinton (Unit 3) and Deb Sandin (Unit 4A) and their helpers scrambling back to their vehicles as they were setting up tables near the SBR pond. Fielding texts and emails asking if the event had been canceled, the weather broke just in time, and residents started showing up with a delicious selection of appetizers and desserts for the informal potluck.
With lively music playing in the background, everyone mixed and mingled with their neighbors while making new friends. Even those who had not RSVP’d due to a conflicting Wine Club gathering on the Event Patio wandered over to join in the fun. Then right on cue at the scheduled end time, the rain hit again. Everyone grabbed their leftovers and headed toward home. All agreed that it was a successful party and are looking forward to the next unit event.
