Veterans’ Club Hosts Veterans Day Breakfast

Mary Kay Voss

The SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) Veterans’ Club hosted the annual Veterans Day Pancake Breakfast in the Sol Ballroom on November 11. In attendance were veterans representing all branches of the armed services, including a Coastie.

Chairman Ken Robinson was the emcee and host. The Color Guard from American Legion Post 132—Daniel McGregor, Beth Lavin, Delbert Giese, Abe Villalobos, and John Wilyat—presented the colors. Dede Jones provided the invocation, blessing all there and thanking them for their sacrifices and service to our country.

Ken introduced the board members, Rob Rizk, Vice Chair, and Mary Kay Voss, Director, and spousal volunteer.

Mary Kay’s presentation on Wreaths Across America (WAA), answered many questions on how that organization was started and their purpose today. Last year the WAA delivered 3 million wreaths to 4,224 locations around the world to be placed on the graves of our deceased veterans. It has grown from 1992 as a private donation by a small group of people in Maine. On Dec. 14, 2024, at 10 a.m., wreaths were placed at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Marana and the Oracle Cemetery.

The SBR Veterans’ Club gives great thanks to SaddleBrooke Ranch and the Ranch House Grill employees for providing an excellent pancake breakfast with all the trimmings!
