Evergreen Cemetery on National Wreaths Across America Day
Linda Nicholson
In 1992, with the end of the holiday season approaching, the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington, Maine, found they had an excess of their live beautiful wreaths. They found a very special use for them by placing them on graves at Arlington Cemetery. By 2007, Wreaths Across America was organized. In 2024, with the help of volunteers, corporate sponsors, and thousands of individual donations, 3 million wreaths were donated for the wreath laying ceremony at 4,900 locations worldwide.
Since 2014, SaddleBrooke Ranch residents have significantly contributed to the growth of this program. In 2024, through the patriotism and generosity of our community, $3,750 was raised through donations and the purchase of raffle tickets.
Linda Nicholson and Donna Prewitt will coordinate this year’s raffle ticket sales and accept donations at SaddleBrooke Ranch. Linda and Donna volunteer on behalf of Southern Arizona Gold Star Mothers to support Evergreen Cemetery. Raffle ticket sales dates will be announced on Neighbor Nextdoor and will run through Nov. 15.
Each year, Jim Click participates in Millions for Tucson by donating three prizes for the raffle. For 2025, the Jim Click Automotive Team is presenting the following prizes:
Grand Prize is a new 2025 KIA Carnival Hybrid SX Prestige.
Second Prize is two first-class, roundtrip airline tickets to anywhere in the world (some restrictions apply).
Third Prize is $5,000 cash.
Raffle tickets sell for $25 each or five (5) for $100. Cash and checks are accepted; checks may be made payable to Wreaths Across America or Southern Arizona Gold Star Mothers. You may also donate by picking up one of the brochures and scanning the QR code or donating through the website: wreathsacrossamerica.org.
