Gathering hearts will be collecting back to school gift cards on August 17 at the Bistro from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Gift cards of $10 or $25 from Target, Walmart, Safeway or Fry’s will be collected for Youth On Their Own for back to school supplies.
Going back to school every fall can be a difficult time for these young people. How can they be expected to do well in school if they don’t have the proper supplies? Education is critical to breaking the cycle of homelessness. Your gift card will have a positive impact on the lives of these vulnerable, abandoned youth who are struggling to stay in school.
We will also accept adult-sized backpacks.
Your donation of a gift card will help these youth have the proper supplies to help them do well in school.
So, please drop off your donation at the Bistro on August 17 between 4:00-6:00 p.m. If you are unable to do so on that date, you can drop them off at the house of Carol Smith, 60539 E. Arroyo Vista Dr. or Bev Hansen, 60028 E. Arroyo Vista Dr., anytime.
