Zentangle has become a new art medium with much interest at SaddleBrooke Ranch. Zentangle artist Val Barsevich has taught two Zentangle classes. These classes were so well received, that the students immediately asked her to return to teach another class with a higher level of expertise.
This class is oriented toward students who have already taken Val’s Zentangle class and have some experience. In this class, students will learn several new tangles as well as general colored pencil techniques to create a Zentangle-Inspired Artwork (ZIA).
The class will once again be taught by Val Barsevich, a certified Zentangle teacher, who has been practicing Zentangle and teaching students of all ages since 2015.
Class description: This class will build upon the techniques Val has taught previously. As noted in the illustration with this article, students will be expanding their knowledge of Zentangle artwork.
Date for class: Wednesday, Oct. 18
Time: 1 to 3:30 p.m.
Class fee: $40
Class size: Minimum: 5, Maximum: 15

Materials the instructor will provide: Val will be providing a template for this project, some sets of colored pencils, and step-outs for all the new tangles the students will be learning.
Materials participants are to bring: Students should bring their basic Zentangle materials—pen, pencil, tortillon, and pencil sharpener. In addition, please bring colored pencils (Val likes to use Prismacolor pencils, but any colored pencils will work). Also, all students need to bring a sketchbook or sheets of paper (computer paper is fine) to record notes and to practice tangles.
