Another successful food drive

The food collected at SaddleBrooke

Two hundred nine bags/boxes of food and $1,115 were collected from Ranchers this year for SaddleBrooke Community Outreach’s annual food drive in March. The food drive supports the Tri Community Food Bank in Mammoth providing one basket of food once a month for families in Mammoth, Oracle, San Manuel and surrounding towns. Our success at the Ranch took the efforts of a dedicated team of Ranchers who passed out flyers door to door; that was the reason, I believe, for the high percentage of donations at the Ranch, and those who helped out Saturday morning picking up food and transporting it to the collection site in SaddleBrooke. Overall the drive, including SaddleBrooke, collected 19,000 pounds of food and a record $13,000.

Ranch team members included Bud and Marilee Fairbanks, Steve Ordahl, Tim and Debbie McCauley, Sam and Ardie Rossi, Gary Boydstun, Ted Wireman, Linda and Larry Strugala, John Hopkins, Mike and Carol Fielding, Lon Alness, Bob Johnson and Steve and Sharon Groth. Thanks to all who donated this year, and we’ll be back next year!
