SaddleBrooke Ranch’s Pickelball Club held its third annual festival tournament from April 28 to May 1, 2016. The four-day tournament included women’s, men’s and mixed doubles from the 2.0 to 3.5 skill levels. During the final day of the tournament the ruckus, fun-filled gold medal rounds were competed. The tournament was intra-community and among friends; however, the games were skill-driven and competitive. Camaraderie and sportsmanship were the themes of the festival. The evening awards ceremony included dinner, the medals presentation and a slide show of the four-day event.
Participation was the key to its success. Special recognition goes to Bob Koerner, Committee Chair; Keith Sturdivant, Gary Grasso and Larry Burchfield for organizing and promoting; Denis Heck, photographer, who seemed to capture every shot; seasoned and newly-trained referees and the team players.
