On April 23, 2019, women golfers from SaddleBrooke One, MountainView/Preserve and SaddleBrooke Ranch gathered to compete in a neighboring club tournament. It was the third year SBRWGA has hosted. A total of 92 women competed in four person teams choosing the two best net balls on each hole. Each team had a combination of players from all communities. It was a great opportunity to get to know people in the other communities.
It was a beautiful day and the golf course was in perfect condition. After the game, everyone gathered for lunch in the Sol Ballroom at the Ranch House Grill. Winners were given awards and our guests had opportunities to win door prizes as well.
The winning team in each of the seven flights won gift certificates to the Pro Shop.
The winners were:
1st Flight: Barb Simms, Donna Barnard, Diane Cain and Bonnie Stark.
2nd Flight: Mary Snowden, Ann Running, Debbie Mielke and Kate Thomsen.
3rd Flight: Debra Flinn, Kathy Brennan, Mary Clark and Joanne Oliver.
4th Flight: Jacque Twitty, Debbie Shelton, Barbara Turiff and E. Kehlenbeck.
5th Flight: Pam Burnett, Jeana Hodges, Connie Klappenbach and Shirley Hunter.
6th Flight: Jo Helms, Mary Floerke, Corky Bosch and Andrea Gray.
7th Flight: Melanie Timberlake, Terri Movius, Kay Cruise and Marilyn Brewer.
Closest to the Pin prizes were awarded to Mary Snowden, hole 2; Jan Kreis, hole 5; Mindy Hawkins, hole 12 and Debbie Mielke, hole 14.
Closest to the line on hole 4 went to Linda Linegar.
An event of this magnitude takes a lot of planning. A great big thank you to our Events Committee headed by Mindy Hawkins and the Golf Play Day by Melanie Timberlake and Lorraine Smith. Our Pro, Mike Jahaske and assistant Ken Steinke are always an integral part of our events. Thank you, gentlemen, for creating our scoreboard and all of the other things you do for us.
A very special thank you to our sponsor for this event, Todd’s Pest Control. Your support enabled us to host this tournament. If you have pests, call Todd’s Pest Control! They will take care of your needs just like they do for our club.
