Unit 4B residents celebrate July 4th

Camille Esterman

For the third year in a row, Cheryl and Patrick Murray hosted a Fourth of July pancake breakfast for friends and neighbors in unit 4B. This annual event provided an opportunity to kick off the holiday, meet new residents and socialize with familiar faces.

The Murray’s garage, driveway and front patio was a vision of red, white and blue. Guests arrived in patriotic clothing, and tables and chairs provided ample seating, while tents and umbrellas provided much needed shade.

Keeping platters of pancakes full kept the griddle-masters, Bill Allen and Jon Swanson, very busy. Meanwhile, a potluck buffet was bursting with dishes to share. Breakfast choices included several egg casseroles and quiches, platters of sausages and bacon, trays of fresh fruit and bowls of fruit salads, assorted muffins, hot cinnamon rolls, sweet rolls and other deserts.

While bottled water was readily available, guests also enjoyed juices, lemonade, iced tea, bloody Mary cocktails and mimosas. Needless to say, no one went home hungry. Thank you, Cheryl and Patrick, for your hospitality and giving us all a chance to begin our day by celebrating our nation’s birthday.

Thank you to Camille Esterman and Debbie Nixon for taking photos.
