The Community Church of SaddleBrooke has partnered with Habitat for Humanity Tucson since 2003 by donating their time and talent to help qualified local families become homeowners. Since 2007 the congregation’s Mission Committee has provided a basic tool kit for every new Habitat homeowner. This year we provided 20 tool kits because that is the number of new homes that they plan to build this year. Habitat families purchase their homes with a 20-year, no interest loan. There is a pride of ownership with these families, and the tool kits help them keep their homes in good condition. The tool kits are perfect for those minor repairs that crop up through the life of a home.
In addition to the tools kits the Community Church has donated in excess of $25,000 towards the construction of homes in the Tucson area.
This year marks the 35th anniversary of Habitat for Humanity Tucson. The affiliate has served more than 400 families in the Tucson area since 1980.
Community Church at SaddleBrooke meets every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. at the DesertView Theater. We are a church of Grace and Care and all are welcome.
