The Saddlebrooke Ranch Women’s Golf Association (SBRWGA) is your local 18 hole golf league. It’s open to any female Ranch resident who plays 18 holes of golf. Whether you love it or hate it, play well for one round, one hole, or one shot, you are welcome to join the club. You will be among other friendly women all at different stages of their golf journeys.
The league plays Tuesday mornings with a shotgun start. Games are included each week to keep things interesting and to add fun and frustration into your life. The league regularly holds special events and tournaments to keep things lively. The Mixed Stix tournament is being held in conjunction with the SBR Men’s Golf Association on July 24. This is a two-team event of both men and women vying for bragging rights for the year. Check in next month to see which team will win the coveted title of 2023 Mixed Sticks Champions!
Ladies grab your best guy for the Sadie Hawkins tournament on Sept. 5. The ladies will invite a man, not your husband or partner from last year, and prepare for a knee slappin’ good time. Sign-ups will open in August.
June 27 was a match play event with 30 golfers divided into 15 pairs, having some fun while surviving the heat. Most matches were won by a small margin. Judy Callahan had a chip-in birdie on hole number 17 and Patti Cimo and Michelle Carter had exceptional rounds to push their teams to victory. Congratulations to the winners: Redfield/Steel, Armenia/Messner, Callahan/Dyer, Mihal/Stark, Robertson/Borm, Cimo/Gaskill, Rodgers/Hoover, Skeele-Flynn/Carter, Couglin/Johnson, Movius/Harrington, Ness/Valverde, Schuster/Graham, Ericksen/Elphic, and Lawson/Pettijohn.
Until next time golf fans…
