A Hole-in-One! SaddleBrooke Ranch Women’s Golf Association’s very own Joanne Garcia made a hole-in-one on hole number 14. Congrats and well played! The elusive hole-in-one is every golfer’s dream. Did you know the odds of the average golfer making a hole-in-one is 12,500 to 1?
When Life Gives You Chip Shots, Make It Count. We are halfway through the year, and here is our leaderboard on league day chip-ins: Kathi Dyer = 5; Phyllis Pettijohn = 4; Tied for third place with 3 chip–ins are Jean Cheszek, Jacki Elphic, Terri Movius, Susanne Schuster, Cathy Steel, and Melanie Timberlake.
Impact of Southern Arizona. SBRWGA was proud to present this tournament event on Aug. 13. We had 100+ golfers, even in the middle of this hot summer. Our residents within the Ranch participated, and at press time we had collected $5,000 for this charity. After the tournament we had a delicious lunch, followed by a fabulous raffle with proceeds donated to Impact of Southern Arizona. Golfers, residents, and sponsors donated a vast array of goodies. Look for us in the October Ranch RoundUp with photos, winners, and donation results.
What’s Next. It’s hot out there and we still have a full schedule ahead. We are always ready for Tee–Time.
* Later in August, we were scheduled to play with the MountainView/Preserve women golfers in the “Beach Bums” tournament. We looked forward to the road trip, lunch, and ice cream!
* In September we hold our annual Sadie Hawkins tournament. Sadie Ladies will find a partner who is not your spouse or the same partner as last year.
* Catalina Cup: We host the first match on Oct. 28. The Catalina Cup is a Gross and Net Match Play competition among 10 local clubs taking place between October and May. Each year at the beginning of the Catalina Cup season, a list is created from members of our league who expressed an interest in playing in these competitive events.
