SBR: Strong–Brave–Resilient: It’s Time to Register for the 9th Annual Cancer Walk!

Team SBR 2023

Sandy Jessop

The Cancer Support Group depends on your support!

It’s amazing what a generous and caring community we have here at SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR). Now, for the 9th year, the Cancer Support Group will host our annual cancer awareness and fundraising activities!

Each year, members and friends of the SaddleBrooke Ranch Cancer Support Group gather together to support fellow residents.

Once again, Team SBR: Strong—Brave—Resilient will ride through the community at the 5th Annual Golf Cart Ride on Friday, Oct. 25. Many team members will also attend the team’s 9th Annual Light the Night in Tucson on Saturday, Oct. 26.

2023’s Golf Cart Ride included over 30 carts, displaying lights and enthusiasm throughout the Ranch. Over 20 team members also joined us at Rillito Regional Park.

There is no charge to register for either event. When you complete your online registration, you are automatically registered for the Golf Cart Ride and the official Light the Night walk for Leukemia/Lymphoma. While we never insist on fundraising, we have found that people are just waiting to be asked! In fact, in 2023 our team received the 1st place fundraising award after raising over $12,000! Did you see us on the news?

As a community that always comes together, we ask you to join us once again for the 2024 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night for one or both these events:

Friday, Oct. 25, 5th Annual Light the Night Golf Cart Ride at SaddleBrooke Ranch

6:15 p.m. (leaving at 7 p.m.)

AND/OR

Saturday, Oct. 26, Leukemia/Lymphoma Society’s Annual Light the Night Walk

7 p.m. (festivities start at 5 p.m.)

Rillito Regional Park

4570 N. 1st Ave., Tucson

By joining our team and raising funds for this important cause, you’ll make a real impact on the fight against cancer. We come together as a community to honor survivors, raise awareness of blood cancers and all cancers, and remember those who have lost their battle.

Please join Team SBR: Strong—Brave—Resilient by registering at pages.lls.org/ltn/az/TucsonL24/sbr.

Note: Registration on the website will automatically register you for the Oct. 25 Community Golf Cart Ride and the Oct. 26 Light the Night Walk.

Raise $100 and you will receive a T-shirt (all cancer survivors get a Survivor shirt)!

Can’t attend the walk? Feel free to make a donation to the team member of your choice by logging on to pages.lls.org/ltn/az/TucsonL23/sbr; then choose a team member from the “Donate to a Team Member” section on the right side of the page.
