SBRWGA Red, White, and Blue tournament in July

The heat is not keeping our SaddleBrooke Ranch Women’s Golf Association (SBRWGA) dedicated golfers off the course. League day play continues through the summer and we are out there. On July 1 we celebrated the Fourth of July with a Red, White, and Blue four-person best ball tournament. And just to keep it cool, we finished the day with an after-golf ice cream social.
State Medallion Update
Our final State Medallion Qualifier was played back on May 20 and while there was a Gross winner based on the combined scores, there was a tie for our Net winner. A three-hole playoff was held between Ingrid McMannus and Debbie Shelton to decide the Net winner. The winner of the playoff was Debbie Shelton, and Debbie will represent SaddleBrooke Ranch in the Net State Medallion competition. Kathy Anderson, who shot a combined two round Gross score of 146 will represent us in the Gross State Medallion competition.
Second Quarter Chip-Ins
During the second quarter of the year, 27 members of our Chip In Club had chip–ins. Those with two each included Pilar Borm, Toni Graves, and Barbara Lythjohan. Those with one each included Monika Bartko, Sandy Buonarigo, Jean Cheszek, Debra Cressio, Kathi Dyer, Stephanie Gaskill, Pam Horwitt, Karen Jordan, Lenore Kolhoff, Ingrid McManus, Nanci Messner, Carol Mihal, Janice Mihora, Terri Movius, Susan Ness, Karen Oprish, Jeanne Osterlund, Kim Rice, Sterlyn Robertson, Marge Rodgers, Mary Snowden, Diane Taylor, Melanie Timberlake, and Jennifer Valverde.
Here are some interesting stats from the results this quarter: the month when the most chip–ins were made was June (15) and the day with the most was June 17 (7). There were two holes where no chip–ins were made—number 2 and number 11—and there was one day when no chip–ins were made—April 15.
Congratulations to those with chip–ins! As we know, it’s all about the short game.
