Glazing Technique Demonstration

Sue Fetters

SaddleBrooke Ranch Mudslingers offered another great learning experience to its members. The Frozen Pond Glazing Technique was demonstrated by instructor Larrie Kosiba. With this type of glazing method, you can create a unique visual effect resembling a frozen pond on ceramic pieces. This process involves layering a base glaze, a running glaze, and a cover glaze. The running glaze is applied in dots or lines and creates a unique fractured appearance similar to a frozen pond. We thank Larrie for sharing his expertise and opening up a new and different way for us to beautifully glaze our ceramic pieces.

The Mudslingers studio is located at the Arts and Tech Center. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
