They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression, yet some job seekers truly struggle with the means to make the kind of impression that will get their feet in the workplace door. A well-fitted suit. Appropriate work attire. Dress shoes. Tasteful accessories. Whether we like it or not, these subtle details can sometimes make or break an interview in today’s highly competitive job market, despite comparable or even superior qualifications. Eagles Wings of Grace, located in central Tucson, has trained volunteers who work individually with women seeking employment to build professional wardrobes that can help them in their job-hunting efforts.
In August, the SaddleBrooke Sunrise Rotary Club pooled its resources to contribute a variety of clothing, toiletries, shoes, and monetary donations to Eagles Wings of Grace. You can do the same by reviewing and responding to the list of needs on their website. In addition to professional clothing and cosmetics, basic hygiene and housekeeping items are also deeply appreciated. The SaddleBrooke Sunrise Rotary Club thanks each member who contributed to this worthwhile cause. If you would like to learn more about all the ways the club works in the local community, please email saddlebrookesunriserotary@gmail.com. Regular meetings take place at 7:45 a.m. on the first and third Thursday of each month in SaddleBrooke Ranch (La Hacienda Clubhouse, Mesa Room). Come join us!
