SaddleBrooke Ranch is growing fast. The new neighbors bring energy, enthusiasm and interest in getting to know our community. They are especially eager to meet other residents and get involved with activities. As part of the Welcome to the Neighbor committee, which consists of volunteers from SBR, monthly Newcomers Gatherings are held on the third Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in La Vista room at La Hacienda clubhouse. The purpose of this gathering is to orient newcomers to the many activities at the Ranch and to meet other new residents. Each month the number of new residents attending increases.
Linda Harvey calls each new resident, welcoming them to the community. The call is followed up with an email inviting them to this gathering. The event is also noted in the SBR HOA Weekly Reminder and HOA calendar. A few veteran homeowners attend to also welcome the newcomers. Tim Fudge, HOA manager, or Andrea Marchus, HOA assistant manager, attend to give a quick overview of their roles with the HOA and a bit of information on current happenings with the HOA. Linda Harvey and Linda Shannon-Hills give a highlight of the activities available for the SBR residents. The new homeowners introduce themselves and tell about their previous home location, things they like to do and a few other details about themselves. The SBR HOA Settler’s Guide is handed out to the new residents along with discount coupons and flyers from local restaurants and small businesses.
After the introductions the newcomers have a chance to chat with the others who have recently moved in or are just moving into SBR. People love to share stories about their moves and compare what they have done to decorate their homes. Very often new and long lasting friendships are started. The Newcomers Gathering was started earlier in the year. The organizers look forward to a busy year ahead with all the new building in the community.
