Join Arizona Pathfinders on a tour to Phoenix, AZ to visit Taliesin West and the Museum of the West on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Here, on the outskirts of Scottsdale, Frank Lloyd Wright built his winter compound, Taliesin West, which today ranks among the region’s most fascinating attractions. He designed the buildings with an organic sensibility, so that they would complement the natural desert surroundings rather than conflict with them. We will have a docent led tour.
For lunch, we head about a mile away to enjoy the ambience and food at the Blue Adobe “Santa Fe Grille” where New Mexico cuisine is served.
After lunch we travel to Scottsdale to have a docent led tour of the Museum of the West. Its theme is Western Spirit: the museum celebrates the art, history, culture and unique stories of the 19 states comprising the American West. The regular changing exhibitions feature Western art, rare historic artifacts and cultural treasures on loan from some of the world’s foremost collectors and institutions. We return to Tucson about 5:30 p.m.
The price for this tour is $186 per person. Contact Bob Stuart at 520-825-4239 or, Mary or John Flynn at 520-579-7508 for information and registration.
