Help us to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the American Legion
The American Legion Oro Valley Post 132 family is proud to sponsor a celebration for the 100th anniversary of the American Legion. Everyone is invited, not just veterans. Admission is free, so join us for music, demonstrations, food, prizes, safety tips, children’s activities, and veteran’s programs.
The celebration will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Riverfront Park, located on 551 W. Lambert Ln. in Oro Valley, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. The opening ceremony starts at 11:30 a.m. with the posting of colors and singing of the national anthem. Listen to the Ocotillo Rain and Thunder Bluegrass Band and DJ while enjoying some of your favorite eats from food vendors.
The event will have claim counselors on hand to help veterans understand their VA benefits and provide resources.
There also will be military and first responder demonstrations. Enter your pet in the pet patriotic costume contest at1:00 p.m. No registration is required—just bring your pet. The event also will feature the following:
