The next meeting of the SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) Conservatives In Action (everyone welcome) is Thursday, July 24, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Note the venue change to the

SBR La Mesa/La Montana rooms.

This meeting will highlight Arizona 2026 candidate views, especially about water!

Alex Kolodin—On April 1, 2025, Alex Kolodin officially launched his campaign for Arizona Secretary of State, with a promise to restore trust in a system that belongs to the people—not the politicians! Alex is making it clear “election integrity isn’t a talking point—it’s the mission.” Currently, Alex represents Arizona Legislative District 3, and is a leading figure in the Arizona Freedom Caucus. To date, his legislative tenure has centered on issues that resonate across party lines—water security, economic relief, public safety, and election reform. His commitment to conservative values has been recognized by the Arizona Fraternal Order of Police, the NRA Political Victory Fund, and the Center for AZ Policy Action. Alex’s platform focuses on three guiding principles: Restoring Voter Confidence; Upholding the Rule of Law; and Delivering Transparency and Efficiency. Alex and his wife, Shannon, have two children and live in Scottsdale.

Kevin Thompson—In January 2023, Kevin was elected to the Arizona Corporation Commission, and was elected Chair in January 2025. He has over 25 years of utility, regulatory, and public service experience, and has served as a Mesa City Councilman. As a council member, Kevin was responsible for setting reasonable utility rates (natural gas, electric, water, and sewer). He served as President of the Arizona Municipal Water Users Association, which facilitates water resource planning and water policy development. For 12+ years, Kevin was the Manager of New Business Development for Southwest Gas. Currently, he serves on the Western Energy Imbalance Body of State Regulators, an energy market identifying low-cost energy in Arizona. Kevin also serves on the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners Electricity Committee, which helps develop and advance policies that promote reliable, adequate, and affordable electricity. Kevin and his wife, Donna, have two children.

Nick Myers—As a member of the Arizona Corporation Commission, and the first ever Commissioner from Pinal County, Nick is working to bring back regulatory stability, keeping rates low, and our utilities resilient and reliable. Nick feels this can be accomplished by removing unnecessary mandates and subsidies, modifying rules before forcing policy on utilities, and putting statewide policy-making back into the legislature. Nick spent almost 20 years in the software engineering industry. He was a policy advisor for Commissioner Justin Olson until being elected as a commissioner. Nick’s engineering mindset, technical background, utility and policy work, and business experience bring a rare combination of skills to the Commission. Nick understands what it takes to make businesses successful, having started several small, family-owned businesses. Nick, his wife, and three children live in Pinal County.
