On Friday evening, November 14, the group “One of These Nights” performed an Eagles tribute concert to a sold-out crowd in the activities tent of La Hacienda Club. The band seemed to resonate with the crowd. After the fourth song people in the audience began dancing in the aisles. Members of the band appeared to be having fun on the stage and interacted with the audience. The smaller performance venue made the entire experience more intimate. People in the audience thought that the performance was better than the original Eagles. After the performance the members of the band went into the audience to answer questions and just hang out.
Although the “leader,” John Waxman, has been playing Eagles music for about eight years, this six-man group originally started about two years ago to play the Eagles tribute music professionally. Each band member is a very talented and experienced musician who plays in other bands and performs solo. In fact all of the members of this group and one additional person comprise a band that plays music of the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Hopefully we may see this other group playing more music for the SaddleBrooke Ranch community.
Robson Communities sponsored this concert after the success in February 2013 with the first concert in the tent, which highlighted country and western music. Future concerts in the tent are planned for spring and fall 2015. According to Andrea Marchus, the administration and facilities coordinator for SaddleBrooke Ranch, the spring concert is being planned to include a Billy Joel/Elton John tribute performed by “Pianoman.” The fall concert is being planned to showcase country hits performed by “Nashville Gold.” Look for details and dates for these future concerts in the SaddleBrooke Ranch Roundup.
