On July 19, the SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) Art Club invited fiber artist Mary Gavan, from Tucson, to teach our members how to make gorgeous hand-painted silk scarves. Each student used colorful liquid paints to create their freeform designs on two Habotai silk scarves. We learned how to apply the dye using different techniques with brushes, pipettes, and Ziplock bags to make fabulous works of art. The array of colorful results was amazing. Mary taught a fun class, and all the students had a great time being creative.

The Art Club plans on having Mary visit again for a possible holiday scarf painting class (and more!). Stay tuned for SBR Art Club happenings in the near future.
