Join the SBR Technology Club special interest group (SIG) to learn about and share experiences with home automation for members, on Thursday, July 22 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., via Zoom.
Home automation gives you access to control devices in your home from a mobile device anywhere in the world. The term may be used for isolated programmable devices, like thermostats and sprinkler systems, but home automation more accurately describes homes in which nearly everything—lights, appliances, electrical outlets, and heating and cooling systems—are hooked up to a remotely controllable network.
From a home security perspective, this also includes your alarm system, and all of the doors, windows, locks, smoke detectors, surveillance cameras, and any other sensors that are linked to it.
The main topic for the July 22 SIG will be a continuation of the discussion about IFTTT for both a website and a mobile app, which allows you to connect all your services together, so that tasks are automatically triggered and completed. We invite you to share your home automation interests and experiences.
At the end, we will discuss topics for future monthly home automation SIGs.
Registration is required to attend. Visit sbrtechnology.club, log in with your password, then click “Register now” to begin the process.
You will receive your link to the Zoom meeting in a separate email prior to the meeting date. The instructor is Dave Richey with Tony Pietrzykoski.
Note: If you are not familiar with Zoom, please schedule a one-on-one training with any of our monitors before the class date. Appointment times are shown on the calendar in the light orange boxes. Registration is required to schedule a one-on-one.
