Painting Watercolor Landscapes: Classes Starting March 1

Dale Farland

Watercolor painting is an art medium many SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) residents want to explore. Diane Vulcan, SBR resident and artist, is offering a series of four afternoon classes starting Wednesday, March 1 at 1 p.m. in the Art Room. Whether you are new to watercolor or are not a stranger to its magic, you will learn how to paint successful watercolor landscapes in this class. This class will focus on beginner and intermediate techniques for painting successful landscapes. Students will use the techniques taught in class to paint rocks, trees, skies, mountains, and buildings. Students will finish the class with a completed watercolor landscape.

Diane has her Bachelor o Fine Arts in Fine Art/Art History and Advertising Design. She is a former graphic designer/illustrator/photographer. She continues to freelance in graphic design. She is a signature member of the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society and former member of the Colorado Watercolor Society, the San Diego Watercolor Society, and the Wyoming Watercolor Society.

Diane paints in both watercolor and oil. She enjoys painting landscapes, nature, animals, and people. Her focus and delight is in capturing the light of landscapes and the personalities of the people and animals she paints.
