Ranchette Putters news

Linda Shannon-Hills

The largest golf group at SaddleBrooke Ranch is the Ranchette Putters with 93 members. We are a social group that enjoys getting outside to try our skills at putting with the other members of the club. In February we had between 48 to 58 putters each week. Awards are given each month to the lowest three average scores as well as six or more holes in one during the month.

February awards

Lowest average score was a tie, 40.0, Alyce Grover and Deb Lawson; second, 41.0, Sue Wells; third, 41.3, Karen Gressingh.

Hole-in-One awards, six or more: Sic holes in one – Pat Kanitz, Karen Gressingh and Alyce Grover; seven holes in one: Deb Lawson and Linda Nicholson.

Ranchette Putters would like to welcome the following new members that have joined between January 1 and March 3: Lynn Fidler, Alyce Grover, Cyndie Grover, Jeanne Hensel, Lynne Heitner, Gloria Ihrig, Naomi Miller, Chris Nunamaker, Jan Olsson, Sandy Schlager, Jean Sticha, Anne Terrell, Sue Vriyu and Susan Wells.

The 2015 putting year took a twist for our lady putters with the announcement that construction of the new Pro Shop began the week of March 16. The new Pro Shop will be located where the putting green was previously located. This announcement has sent the Putters scrambling for new options to keep the club active during our hiatus from the SaddleBrooke Ranch putting green.

The club has reserved the use of SaddleBrooke HOA One putting green for a of couple weeks. The club will also putt on grass east of the pickleball courts using croquet wickets, giving putting a new twist. Also a group from Ranchette Putters will walk from 30-60 minutes before joining others for our social time after putting. Monthly meetings will continue on the first Wednesday of each month in La Mesa Room. Our putters have also been invited to MountainView Lady Putters for an event on Monday, April 27, and to Quail Creek Lady Putters on Wednesday, May 13.

Please check the Ranchette Putters website for further details on times and locations for our activities.
