The Horseback Riding Group enjoyed riding on the property of the White Stallion Dude Ranch with the Tucson Mountain Stable. This ride offered some nice views of the Tucson Mountains together with views of the Catalinas and Tortolitas in the distance. The Tucson Mountains as seen from this ranch were the subject of a painting by local SaddleBrooke Ranch artist Doug Miller called “Sombrero Hill.”

The group has a brief hiatus during the cold weather of January, but is planning a ride on Saturday, Feb. 4. We hope to have permission to ride in a nearby park in Catalina on this date. Additional rides will be the popular Sunset Ride in Saguaro East National Park on Friday and Saturday, March 10 and 11, and a venue to be determined on Saturday, April 8.

If you would like to participate, you can go to the SaddleBrooke Ranch HOA website, click on “Things to Do,” “Clubs,” click on “Horseback Riding,” and then on the link you will see there. Details on this ride will be posted there under “News.” To sign up, hit “Contact Us” in the lower left and enter the information requested including your preference of time. This will then alert the secretary, who will then get in touch with you to finalize your reservation. Note that some time slots may have already been filled. Payment is made directly to the stable the day of the ride. All trail rides are at a walk, just to enjoy the scenery.
