On Oct. 10, the SaddleBrooke Ranch Horseback Riding Group headed to Marana and the Tucson Mountain Stables for a nice ride through the desert on the property of the White Stallion Ranch resort. The trail wound through the desert, passing by an area of petroglyphs that attested to the centuries people have been in this area. Nearby they are widening Twin Peaks Road, and the subdivisions are starting to encroach!
On Saturday, Nov. 7, the group will head to the Rancho de los Cerros stables which is nestled within a private residence/resort just beside the Catalina State Park. The views of the mountains on this ride are really magnificent. See our Team Reach site for further details and to sign up. Sign up ends on Wednesday, Nov. 4, so we can get a final count to the stable.
On Saturday, Dec. 5, the group will head to another favorite spot, Donnelly’s D-Spur in Gold Canyon. This ride offers beautiful views of the Superstition Mountains. That will be the final ride for 2026. There is no ride in January. We start again in February, 2027.
If you are interested in the Horseback Riding Group’s activities, go to the SaddleBrooke Ranch HOA website, “Things to do,” “Clubs.” There in the middle column is a link to the “Horseback Riding Group.” Click on that and you will see more information and the email address to get in contact with the group.
If you would like to participate in a particular ride, there are two ways to reserve your spot. The group uses “Team Reach” and once invited, you can see more information on a particular ride and also reserve your spot. Using “Team Reach” makes it very easy to make your reservation or cancel if you need to. If you have not yet joined the group on “Team Reach,” please send an email to the link at the HOA website. Give the secretary, Rebecca Williams, your name, the ride you want to join, and the time if there is a choice. She will get back to you with a confirmation and can help with any questions you may have.
You can participate as often as you choose. All rides are usually one hour at a walk, just to enjoy the scenery. The price for each ride varies but is typically $60 to $75 including tip. We all pay at the stable on the day of the ride. Happy Trails!
