When Life Gives You Chip Shots, Make It Count. Things are heating up for the SaddleBrooke Ranch Women’s Golf Association (SBRWGA). We are halfway through the year, and here is our leaderboard on league day chip-ins: Kathi Dyer=8; Karen Oprish=6; Mary Snowden=6; Jean Cheszek=5; Sterlyn Robertson=4; Debbie Shelton=4. Keep up the good work.
We headed over to the MountainView Preserve on Aug. 18 to compete in the annual Beach Bums tourney, thinking it might be a little cooler. Alas it was another 104 degrees day. Patti Cimo, Trish Minard, Judy Callahan, Joan Grawe, Pilar Born, Toni Graves, Phyllis Pettijohn, Kathi Dyer, Evie Thompson, Terri Menning, and Sandy Buonarigo brought home the bacon. Thanks to these winners and our other members who turned out to play.
What’s next? September was a quiet month, and the course was closed for the fall maintenance during the last two weeks of the month. Hopefully October will bring in cooler temps and many more of our members will be playing.
We’re looking forward to our most popular tournament: Member-Member on Oct. 19-20. We had 40 teams by early September, plenty of time left to add more. Our theme is Halloween, so we will be wearing all the scary and spooky shirts we can find. Read the results in an upcoming SaddleBrooke Ranch RoundUp.
Our Club Championship will be held on Nov. 9-10. The women are practicing for this tourney. We have the Club Champion and the Senior Club Champion to crown.
December 11 is our festive Holiday Party, filled with lots of creative costumes, good food, and thanking our outgoing board members. Plus, the big announcement of who is the Most Improved Player for 2026!
