SBRWGA News

Our SaddleBrooke Ranch Women’s Golf Association (SBRWGA) members are tough and the numbers prove it. During November more than 60 of us came out to compete in each of our regular Tuesday outings. This is the time of year when holiday celebrations and colder weather can reduce participation, but we came out strong.

Looking back on the league day statistics for the year, we can count 557 birdies and 5 eagles for our members through the month of November. Three of those eagles were on hole number six and one was on hole number one. Joanne Garcia, Mary Snowden, and Susanne Schuster had their eagles on hole number six, a par 4. Jean Cheszek had her eagle on hole number one, a par 5. Patty Ross had her eagle on a day when only nine holes counted and, it appears that her eagle was on a hole that didn’t count. How unfortunate! Congratulations to each of you!

Club Championship

Our Club Championship was held on Nov. 10 and 11, 2025. Fifty-four women competed in the tournament. To compete for Club Champion or Senior Club Champion a member must play from the Plum tees. Nineteen members were in competition for Club Champion and our Club Champion for 2025 is Jean Cheszek with a two-day gross score of 150. Twelve members were in competition for Senior Club Champion and our Senior Club Champion for 2025 is Diana Walton with a two-day gross score of 174. Congratulations Jean and Diana!

We finished our year with a Holiday Luncheon celebrating the joy of giving and the joy of our SBRWGA friends. We were able to make a generous donation to our charity, IMPACT of Southern Arizona, and had a wonderful time celebrating the joy we share both on and off the course.

Most Improved Player

Our most improved player is also recognized at our Holiday Luncheon. Joan Grawe was recognized as our most improved player. This is an award that is won by continued search for improvement, not just one or two days of play. Congratulations, Joan!

Looking forward to new memories and friendships in 2026, on and off the course.
