On Friday, April 10, SaddleBrooke Community Outreach joined forces with Long Realty, Golder Ranch branch and the Beacon Foundation, the largest employer of disabled Americans in the area, to host a shredding event for residents and friends of people in SaddleBrooke.
Beacon Foundation has several contracts with the U.S. Government for shredding and has the highest clearance for dealing with sensitive federal documents. The electronics accepted included computers, cell phones, printers, etc. Donations of $5 or five cans of nonperishable food were requested. By the time the event was completed over $2,000 had been collected along with a full SBCO van of food!
The cash donations were split between Beacon and the Tri Community Food Bank, and the actual food collected also went to TCFB. Thank you to all who participated, and while shredding and protecting your own personal items you helped people in need, just a few miles north of SaddleBrooke.
