Carol Emerson
Growing up, Ken and I always looked forward to getting back to school each year. It was exciting to get back with our friends and to begin our new classes. So it is here in SaddleBrooke; we look forward to the return of our snowbird students and to the new students that will be joining our Tai Chi classes. So as our “Back to School” special, we are offering one free private lesson when you purchase the six-class package anytime during October, November and December.
This is a $27 savings! Plus, having a private lesson really helps with the learning process. So whether you are new to Tai Chi or an established student, we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity. New beginning classes start each month.
Health Benefits
Tai Chi gives us options for moving, stretching and strengthening the body that are not strenuous. It engages the entire body with gentle, flowing movements. A consistent Tai Chi practice improves muscular strength, balance and postural control. Studies show that older adults who practice Tai Chi are half as likely to fall as people of similar age who do not exercise.
Tai Chi also helps reduce tension and pain. Most people carry tension in their bodies without even being aware of it. Tension causes pain. Working at the computer is particularly hard on the upper shoulders and neck. The deep relaxed breathing, slow, gentle movements and meditative nature of Tai Chi work together to help relieve pain.
Recent studies indicate that Tai Chi benefits people suffering from depression, arthritis, high blood pressure and Parkinson’s; it is also part of many cardiac rehabilitation programs.
